5. Make sure the contractor lists ALL of the materials that will be used in your project and ask for samples. Have this material information noted in your contract.

7. All changes from the original contract should be in writing and signed by both parties detailing costs.
8. Finally, have a good feeling about the contractor you’re going to be hiring. You should feel comfortable about the contract you’re signing with that contractor. Remember, there are many good contractors out there.
